Indonesian Translation and Interpreting
While large portions of the world are familiar with the history and origins of widely spoken languages such as French, Spanish, Chinese, and the other UN languages, there are many whose origin stories are uniquely interesting and whose history is truly remarkable.
One example is Indonesian. The Indonesian language (known as “Bahasa Indonesia”) is a fascinating and complex language with a rich history dating back thousands of years. It is the official language of Indonesia and is spoken by approximately 300 million people worldwide.
Indonesian can be traced back to the ancient kingdoms of Java and Sumatra. These kingdoms developed their unique languages, which were influenced by Sanskrit, Arabic, and other languages of the region. Over time, these languages evolved and eventually merged to form the modern Indonesian language we know today.
The development of this beautiful, complex language was also influenced by a rather dark period of its country’s history: the Dutch colonization of Indonesia. Like many other colonial powers worldwide, the Dutch and their language influenced their colonies and how language developed in them.
The modern Indonesian language is based on Malay. It is vibrant and dynamic – a chameleon, influenced by many other languages, even today, as Indonesia continues to evolve and change with the times.
Of course, with such a rich history and influence, any interpreter must understand the intricacies of respecting its culture and people.
Indonesian Interpreters Can Communicate Cultures and Languages
At CCA, we use only native speakers who understand the nuances of a language and its sensitive history and culture. With CCA’s professional interpreters, you will never suffer a diplomatic incident caused by a wrong interpretation. Nothing is worse for a client than finding their message is getting lost because the interpreters are missing cultural undertones or nuances. Likewise, clients want to hear their words interpreted in a way they are comfortable and familiar with – not how awkward machine-based interpretation might do it, but rather with the right tone and accent.
Our professional, conference-level interpreters are highly qualified, with résumés and experience to leave you confident in their abilities.
They are: Graduates in conference interpretation from a globally-recognized university or school.
They have: At least 5 years and 200+ days of conference-level interpreting experience, including experience in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
They’ve earned: Accreditation and/or membership with one or more internationally-renowned organizations such as AIIC, the United Nations, the European Union, and the US Department of State.
Platinum Standard Indonesian Translation
Have you ever picked up an instruction manual or business brochure and realized after the first sentence that someone with less than stellar translation skills got their hands on the original? It’s hard enough to figure out which parts go where when assembling your Swedish nightstand or trying to figure out the business model of a potential client. Add in grammatical, punctuation, or translation errors, and it’s sometimes more trouble than it’s worth.
Never fear: you will not meet that same fate when you put your trust in CCA. To ensure our work is of the highest quality, we implement a three-step process that ensures all translations are polished. A dedicated project manager oversees a team of three translators:
• The Translator is in charge of the first draft of your document;
• The Editor is responsible for checking the translation for meaning, style, nuances, etc.;
• The Proofreader performs an extra check, looking for typos, punctuation errors, and formatting issues.
Our highly proficient teams can translate any of the following into Indonesian or any other language:
• Legal documents
• Medical documentation
• Marketing materials
• Technical manuals
• Training materials
• Corporate communications
• Government documents
• Subtitles and transcripts
• Websites and software
• Speeches and presentations
and any other types of documentation.
