Polish translation and interpretation requires cultural sensitivity and panache
Imagine you have a Polish client who uses the word Żal to describe a recent business transaction. You plug the word into Google Translate, or a “proficient” Polish translator (a native English speaker) translates the word as meaning, “sad.” While you feel terrible about this, your American mind starts scrambling, trying to think of ways you can compensate for whatever it is that made the client feel sad or discontent with the recent transaction or performance. This line of thinking is very “American” and so a chain of frustration commences.
Why? Because the word, Żal in Polish doesn’t actually have a straightforward English translation. The word’s direct translation is sad, but the “sadness” is as the result of a betrayal or serious disappointment. By misunderstanding the meaning, your offer of a better price or free goods to “make up” for the initial “sadness” will wind up seeming ingenuine. At best, the client’s faith in you will be shaky. At worst, you may have just lost a client.
This is exactly the type of mistake that is made all the time when companies don’t prioritize using professional translation and interpretation service providers. Using a native speaker makes all the difference in the world, ensuring your message is carefully translated in terms of both language and nuance. Your interpreters should always integrate their cultural knowledge into their interpretations. That is why Chang-Castillo and Associates always pairs our clients with native speaking Polish translators and interpreters for all their professional needs.
We are committed to providing our client with professional translation and interpretation services that exceed our their expectations. We believe the success of your business relies on our team’s ability to convert your English content, sentiments, and nuances across country borders and potential cultural hang-ups, in a way that is as compelling to your Polish prospects as it is to your American and other English speaking prospects.
Professional translation you can trust
Translation of important documents should never be a one- or even two-shot deal. That is why CCA uses a three-tier process for ensuring client documents are accurately translated and formatted correctly.
We provide professional translation services for a myriad of content, including:
- Government documents
- Corporate communications
- Technical manuals
- Presentations
- Marketing and training materials
- Speeches and transcripts
If it can be written in English or any other language, our translation team excels at translating the content into Polish for you and your clients. We are also available to help you organize and disseminate the materials being used for an upcoming meeting, event or conference.
First, your project is assigned to a project manager (PM). The PM will serve as your personal contact, keeping you abreast of the project’s process and ready to answer any questions or field any concerns along the way. After the initial consultation, the PM sends the project through for a first-round of translation. The translated document is then given to a professional editor, who is responsible for reviewing the translation for meaning, style, nuances, etc. Finally, a third proofreader will comb through the document to make any last-minute technical or formatting corrections.
By project’s end, your project will have been in the hands of three, professional linguists, all of whom are dedicated to providing top-notch work.

CCA’s interpreters combine education, experience, and intuition
At first, it may seem like intuition has no place in a situation where your words are to be interpreted to your client. However, variances in professional culture demand that high-quality interpreters use their own native, culture wisdom and a dose of intuition to ensure your message lands the way you intended it to.
In plain English, Poland spent 40 years as a communist country and although it’s been nearly 30 years since their one-party system was overturned, the cultural legacies remain. And political unrest prior to and after this level of political and cultural upheaval is incomprehensible to those born and raised in the United States.
Polish business conduct, mannerism, tone and process can be very different from what you are used to. Your experienced, Polish interpreters will help to ensure you do not make any unintentional gaffes, and that your business and its brand remains intact throughout communications and negotiations.
All of our interpreters must have graduate degrees in conference interpretation from accredited universities, at least five years of experience in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation at the conference level, and current memberships and/or certifications from globally recognized industry organizations.
Contact CCA to begin discussing which interpretation style(s) will work best for your upcoming engagements and events. We look forward to introducing you to your Polish interpreter, and we feel confident he or she will excel and helping your company expand your global market.
CCA offers teleconferencing and equipment rental services
As technological innovations march steadily onward, so too does your ability to “meet” with Polish prospects and clients without ever leaving the office. CCA offers teleconferencing services – including both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting via an innovative telephonic platform.
Clients can work with us to plan their meeting as they would for an in-person meeting and then at the designated time, they can simply call the provided number. Our teleconference team will do the rest, including synchronizing our technology with your presentation platform of choice.
We also provide rental equipment solutions for any type of event, which can be combined with interpretation services in any location worldwide. Our rental equipment menu includes state-of-the-art, fully-enclosed soundproof booths, audio/video equipment, participant headsets and receivers, portable units for tours or demos, and conference technicians who provide complete A/V support.
